The Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) received a generous grant from the Bay and Paul Foundations to support the work of the Tribal Wellbeing for Seven Generations Program to build resilience and capacity within Native American communities by engaging Young Leaders through our internship program. The Tribal Wellbeing for Seven Generations Internship Program will support up to eight interns who are current college or university students: two during the academic school year and up to six interns for the summer. Through this program, we are investing in our Young Leaders and honoring our Elders and Leaders who have continually voiced the need to prioritize youth engagement as a form of Native American resiliency.

The Water and Land Summer Internship program is a comprehensive 8 to 10-week summer and academic year internship designed to provide students with valuable hands-on skills and experience. The program offers opportunities to apply learned skills through on-the-job training in various settings such as Tribal nations and organizations, state and federal agencies, as well as water or land management NGOs, non-profit organizations, and for-profit companies.

This internship program is made possible through the generous funding support of several organizations including the Catena Foundation, Mighty Arrow Foundation, SRP, and Resolution Copper. Their contributions enable students to engage in meaningful projects and gain practical experience in their chosen field of interest.
